The customers can execute many transactions via mobile phone such as, to ask for information about balance, to transfer among account, payment of products or service, searching for foreign exchange and interest rate, credit card service, loan service or others transactions. That make customers is comfortable and receive speedy service. The number of Mobile Banking users will increase continuously because mobile phone is small and easy to carry. Nowadays IT and wireless is important for Thailand. The 3G Network is tend to be popular because it is technology that speedy transfer information. It make the communication is quickly. In addition, there are new style services like voice service or Non-Voice service. The examples are SMS, MMS and others service such as, game download, movies download, music download, map or the others transactions via mobile phone.

Mobile Banking was first originated in Thailand in 2543 by cooperated between KTC and DTAC. Developing the transaction system through mobile services “TFB e-Mobile Banking”, through SMS. Operating for balance check and transfer between user’s accounts only. The user needs codes for each transaction to send information to the bank. 2545, Mobile Banking service has been raised again with WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) technologies by Bank of Asia, Bangkok bank and Siam commercial bank (SCB).

The past is the learning period that Mobile Banking was not widely popular at the time, the technology was limited in application development length. The service offers were complicated, processions were slow, just few devices could support the services and banks were not confident in the security of Mobile Banking as it should be.

In 2008, Mobile Banking was back into service again. It seems to be succeeded when the Mobile phones became a part of everyday life for Thai people while the Bank is required to help facilitate the financial transactions from the past to the present. When these two things come together, it was found that 99% of Thai people with bank accounts use mobile phones. Mobile Banking service has been raised again, and there were much more response from consumers for their life styles and habits.

Statement and significance of the problems

Using of the Internet Banking before to developing a Mobile Banking. Currently, using of smartphones is increasing that make the Mobile Banking’s becoming popular. Apple has developed an operating system for the Mobile Banking is compatible with browser in both the iPhone and iPad, so the Android developed their system for Internet Banking as well. Later, the banks developed their services from Internet Banking to the Application or Mobile Banking.

Information from the Bank of Thailand in December 2012 indicated that there were 6,645,161 accounts using Internet Banking and total transactions are 1,233 billion baht per month. It also saw the number of subscribers increased to 864,312 Mobile Banking account, up to the number of 688,178 accounts in January 2012 and the number of transactions through Mobile Banking 3.68 million per month, totalling 49 billion baht.

Mobile banking is a system that allows customers of a financial institution to conduct a number of financial transactions through a mobile device such as a mobile phone or
personal digital assistant.

Mobile banking differs from mobile payments, which involve the use of a mobile device to pay for goods or services either at the point of sale or remotely, analogously to the use of a debit or credit card to effect an EFTPOS payment.

The earliest mobile banking services were offered over SMS, a service known as SMS banking. With the introduction of smart phones with WAPsupport enabling the use of the mobile web in 1999, the first European banks started to offer mobile banking on this platform to their customers.

Mobile banking has until recently (2010) most often been performed via SMS or the mobile web. Apple's initial success with iPhone and the rapid growth of phones based on Google's Android (operating system) have led to increasing use of special client programs, called apps, downloaded to the mobile device. With that said advancements in web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript have seen more banks launching mobile web based services to complement native applications. A recent study (May 2012) by Mapa Research suggests that over a third of banks have mobile device detection upon visiting the banks main website. A number of things can happen on mobile detection such as redirecting to an app store, redirection to a mobile banking specific website or providing a menu of mobile banking options for the user to choose from.
